The humanitarian crisis that some of our regions had experienced for decades, due to the impersonal factors of violence, such as the of job opportunities, little or no presence of the State in its basic obligations such as health or education centers, drinking water, sanitation access roads and communication networks, have generated and are generating strong pressure on communities and especially among the youngest.

In parallel, the dynamics of illegal mining and illegal deforestation are negatively impacting the immediate reality of the inhabitants and the future of a healthy environment for future generations, in some of the most biodiverse regions of the world.

In this context, the community leaders, in coordination and support from multiple organizations such as USAID and COMMUNITY COUNCILS, RESGUARDOS AND PRIVATE LAND OWNERS developed projects called: REDD + Project (BCBM)*, which is classified as Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU for its acronym in English) to address these factors that are generating a serious humanitarian crisis.
