The objective of the projects are to reduce the pressure on forest through forest governance (including improvements in the recognition of ownership for family use, in land use planning, and in the demarcation and monitoring of conservation and reserve zones), the generation of alternative productive activities and the strengthening of capacities in administration and management of resources.
These projects activities in addition to the protection of forest and local biodiversity contribute to social and economic development in one of the most vulnerable regions.
The effectiveness of these activities depends in part on their long/term economic success, advances in forest governance, and their broad adoption by territory members.
